The aim of this workshop was to see how photography captures the nude figure; by setting up the scenario for a life drawing class with a nude model we saw how each photographer captures atmosphere, line, movement and measurement. Photography has the reputation of being able to capture reality objectively void of subjective interpretation, the workshop gave the opportunity for a group to respond and put this idea to the test. Initially each participant was asked to sit in place of the model, so as to briefly exchange roles between subject and object and for them too feel what it is like to be on the other side of the lens. The event continued as visitors to the gallery stood around watching the workshop as it happened. After a mixture of short poses we experimented with live projection manipulated by the participants.
